crochet, country living and all things vintage.............

With keen anticipation four of us set off for our first crochet lesson at No.9 this Tuesday. We had two lovely tutors, Kristina and Julie who were very patient and set us off on our first crochet flower mission, so with help from Lucy we're now set to become crochet experts. Sadly poor old Anna was struck down with the dreaded lurgy but all her planning paid off and we had a fab time. Liz and I even managed to scoff a bacon sarnie at the same time as crocheting, marvellous! We're all looking forward to the next session. If you ever have a chance you really must visit No.9, it's a perfect cafe in every way.

This weekend is our annual November jaunt to London, on Sunday we will be leaving at some unearthly hour to make our way down to Islington for the Country Living fair - hurrah! No children, men or other distractions, plenty of shopping and laughs guaranteed! We'll be popping along to see Kathy and we're also planning a quick trip over to Spitalfields after the show. Can't wait.

Next week, of course, is the Vintage and Handmade fair over at Rangeworthy. I will be there in a tea making capacity, I'm far too cowardly to actually have a stall there. Michele and Jane have done such a fantastic job at organising this fair, it will be such a treat to see all those fellow bloggers and put faces to the cyber personalities. Of course the promise of all those handmade goodies is also a major bonus, no doubt a few Christmas presents will be snapped up. Hope to see you there.
Blogging will be a bit hit and miss over the next couple of weeks. Next Thursday evening will be our Christmas sale here in the VH household, which I'm madly sewing for. Andrea will be here along with a couple of friends selling their handmade brooches and pictures. If any of you are nearby please feel free to join us, there will be mulled wine aplenty!

Have a lovely weekend all..................

I wouldn't bother going to the Country Living show. I went yesterday and bought everything. Hee, hee! only joking but I do wish I could have got more.

It was very HOT! So wear layers so you can strip off. If I could have walked around in bra and knickers without scaring anyone I would of.

Oh how I wish I lived nearby! I have to get a shopping day away just to get a good look round somewhere different. What are you sewing for your home sale?

Claire said...

Hiya, was wondering if you could send me a few tips on your shopping eve, I'm having one in two weeks, have done loads for other people but not in my own home, is there anything you do in particualar to make it succesful? I'm donating a percentage to the school so I know that will help....Claire xx

ahhh, the photo of the cafe is lovely! glad to see Gavin is working hard in my absence!
I'm SO pleased you had a great time with the crochet, and can't wait for the next session, hopefully I'll be back in the land of the living by then...I could have done with learning crochet for all of these dull sofa bound days!
See you soon, and have a fab time on Thursday evening. I wish I could come, but sadly no energy still. Rubbish.x

Sounds like a fab time over at No.9 cafe, I'd been wondering where that lovely Anna had go to. Poor honey.
Owww it's this weekend isn't it the vintage sale yeay! I've been looking forward to it for ages. Is it very far from Cheltenham, we're staying at Ben's mum's and just wondered how far it will be from there. Is it free entery?
Good luck with the home sale, i bet it will as good as the last one sweetie.
Looking forward to seeing you and Andrea.
Take care,
Hugs,

I'm of to the Scottish CL Fair tomorrow, despite being hit by flu 10 days ago I am determined that I will have muscles in my legs and the porridge in my brain will have dispersed! I’m taking it easy today – still in dressing gown & PJ’s - reading lovely blogs.
It is Scotland’s 1st CL Christmas Fair I have been looking forward to it for months, I am sooo excited.
Lovely blog by the way I may not leave notes but I drop in regularly!

Hi, thanks so much for the advice, definatly a great idea about dotting items around in places you'd expect to find them!
Hope you dont mind me asking...again..as I usually do, where did you purchase your fireside lamps from?
Have a fab time at the Vintage fair, it will be so nice for you all to meet up. I was planning on coming especially as I've realised it only takes about 50mins to get there and a little bit further to Tetbury (gorgeous shops)from Cardiff, on a good traffic day of course! But I'm doing a christmas fair....bummer...lol!! Hopefully there will be another one next year and I will mark it in my diary!! Have fun....Claire xx

Hi Julia

It was lovely to meet you yesterday and thanks so much for that cup of coffee and the chocolate cake!!! You did such sterling work keeping us all topped up, and all the visitors fed and watered.

I hope you'll be booking a stand for the next V&H Fair and filling it with crochet!!!!

Thanks again!
