So, dear readers, would you like me to treat you to a quick peek at the latest car boot finds? Of course you do........... Sunday morning was bright and sunny so 7.30am found Andrea and I ready to start our regular saunter around what was a huge boot fair. This local (about 5 mins from my door) car boot has grown in both sellers and buyers and there's always a good atmosphere up there. There's been a distinct change in the people buying of late with a lot more arty / crafty looking people wandering around, people have cottoned on to the bargains to be had, great for the sellers but makes treasures a bit harder to come by. I nearly bopped a woman on the head with the two vintage windbreaks she snaffled just before I got to the stall. That's what keeps me going back, you just never know what you're going to find.
Plants are a great car boot favourite, cheap and abundant, the choice is fantastic. This week I treated myself to a foxglove and aquilegia. Let's see how long it takes me or the rampant snails to finish them off.........
Another fortuitous fabric find, two lovely patchwork cushions for £1. Lovely, lovely...........soon there'll be no space left on the sofa, that'll discourage lounging, doing my bit for a healthy lifestyle you see.
Although I can now crochet I find it impossible to pass a granny square by, especially for the magic sum of £1 - the price of most things it seems.
A fabulous red polka dot raincoat for the fashion queen, yes, you guessed it £1.
Here's where I pushed the boat out, couldn't resist this fair advertisement from Montana (apparently). Loving that name! Worth the £3, had to barter for this one, paying £5 for anything at the car boot is out of the question.

What great bargains! Especially love the ad and the first aid box!
You have really done well there. Isn't it amazing how each car boot sale (or vide greniers, in my case) has its own character and specialities? Those two cushions were fantastic, but really, I love everything.
My giveaway, which is a bit like a vintage French haul from a Vide Greniers, is still running, if you'd like to come over and have a go...
Shame she couldn't have bought just one windbreak and you had the other, naughty, greedy lady.
Some fabulous finds.
My littleset one used to look like an eledery LA power walker in her odd collection of clothes. ESpecially favoured the Bjorn Borg headband look. They make good memories.

Ha - I've been waiting for the windbreak post this week! I love your finds - it takes me hours to wake up so I generally don't notice what's under my nose! When you open a shop - I'll be first in the queue! Emma x
Great finds and I'm sure your foxglove and aquilega will be just fine. Slugs and snails seem to think our garden operates as some sort of snail reserve and they don't eat our foxgloves or aquilegas.
You lucky thing! - I'd of definately had all of those lovely goodies!
Fantastic finds. I love the patchwork cushions and the first aid box is fab!
Oh now I have a huge blog crush on your site! I just found you through Emma's and oh my....charity shops and boot sales - bliss!
Fabulous bargains!
I adore your patchwork cushions and crochet blanket, what fantastic bargains!xxxx
i love carboots..they are just amazing arnt they!!
loving all your buys.. i really like your love cushions
(haha how funny does that sound!!) but i do on your sofa!!!
Fab finds, Julia. Your post did make me laugh, we all become different, slightly deranged creatures at the car boot sale! Love your patchwork cushions and I buy crochet too - mainly 'cos I know that £1 for all those hours of work is a bargain! I have a "Love" cushion like yours, which reminds me that I am meant to be making some for the fair. But I do dislike satin stitching the edges of the letters. Putting it off, me?!

Wow some terrific finds. I know what you mean about £5 at a bootsale being out of the question. I totally agree.
I have a new blog and actually the first post is a bit of a rant about bootsales - http://thefurtheradventuresofathriftymrs.blogspot.com/
Oh now I do really like the cushions. I found a little first aid box myself today but paid £3 more than you!
Wish they did macs like that in my sixe, fantastic. Your little lady's socks are divine too. My mum has a similar picture of me aged about 4 in red wellies, pink tutu plus baseball cap and pushing a toy lawnmower. Some people are just born with style if you ask me.
I bet those windbreaks were all mouldy.

Great finds, I love bootsales too,I have to tell myself to calm down whan I get to one. I want to be able to look at all the stalls at once and can't bear to think about the bargains I might be missing which are all bound to be in the next aisle along :)
Oh and I HATE it when someone grabs something just as I get to the stall; last Sunday I almost cried when I saw a coatstand being sold right in front of my eyes, I missed it by seconds...it sold for £2.50!!!And was just what I was looking out for :(
I just LOVED looking through those photos a second time! Thanks for coming over and entering my giveaway - best of luck!
