This is my favourite tea set. It was given to us by Ian's mum. I just love the little pink roses and tea does taste gorgeous when it's in a china teacup. The problem is I'm a true northern girl at heart and I like a good mug of tea, so the tea set doesn't get used very often. I am a total tea addict, completely horrible unless I have at least two cups of tea first thing. During the day I "treat" myself to cups when I think I've achieved certain things, it cheers me up and quite often calms me down. I love it!
Another vision of pinkness in this house is Kitty's bedroom, although she professes her favourite colour to be "lellow"- she's not allowed an opinion on home decoration yet, she's not even three! Both she and Jack share the top floor of the house and it's lovely and cosy up there tucked into the eaves with great views of the hills over the rooftops.
I found the curtain around the basin on Ebay, it came from the States. They have the most fantastic vintage stuff over there, much more than we have on offer here in the UK and quite often it sells for so much less, even taking the postage into consideration. (Is it my eyesight or are these photos blurry?)
It's a great place for hiding all the paraphenalia that children accumulate. The mirror above was a car boot bargain that I haven't yet got around to hanging, I can't quite bring myself to drill into the wallpaper!
Hope you're all having a great week, and here's to a sunny and relaxing weekend!

Hello again!! I too, am a total tea-addict! I am on my 3rd mug already! And, I love your daughters bedroom!! So lovely!!
Lovely tea set my grandma had the same one! I'm a tea addict too, just have to drink it all day long. My youngest shares the same colour bedroom, nice to be able to indulge in a bit of pinkness isn't it?
Have a good weekend.

I love your tea set and Kitty's bedroom. Soft lello looks really pretty with pink too. Hope you have a wonderful weekend too.
I already have one pale 'lello' room which is possibly my favourite room in the house. It's my baby girl's room and I have promised myself that I would post pictures of it when I finally finish her quilt and not before - hopefully soon. I have been wondering whether to paint the 2 older girl's room pink and I think you have just made up my mind - it's very pretty and I think they would love it. Then I just have to get them to keep it looking nice and not like a junk heap! BTW I also allow myself little teabreaks after getting a few things done and my favourite tea is Lady Grey - mmmmm.
I just love your house - it is so gorgeous and has inspired me to get mine looking a whole lot better.
The tea set is really lovely. I like the idea of using my cups and saucers and the tea-pot, but usually a mug and a bag are used. The fabric print on the curtain is fab.
I know what you mean about the paraphenalia that children accumulate - I love the photo on your last post of your living room at half term - mine looks like that everyday - we are so used to treading on bits of stickle brick...
Hi Julia,
love your house, its a proper 'home', so cosy and warm.
I see you live a Glousteshire, my dad grew up in Berkley castle, his parents were in charge of maintenance so they lived in part of the castle...(although as a child dad thought he was king whole castle!)
look foward to reading your blog now i've found you.
Jennifer.
No pinkness in this household. I have two teenage boys. Everything is a sort of drab "dirty socks" color. Your decorating photos are lovely.
