Spot the difference.............

There's a battle going on in this house at the moment! It involves the cushions on the sofa. I have a certain way I like to place them and every night before we go to bed I plump them all up so they look nice in the morning. I know, I know it's very sad but it's one of my "things" - I also can't leave the house unless all the beds are made, maybe I need to get therapy or perhaps a life??

Back to the cushions, I like them like this.........

But Kitty likes them like this.................

Because the floral one on the left has been claimed as her cushion it just has to go on her side of the sofa, but it doesn't look right! So we are having a very quiet battle, every time I go into the living room the cushion fairy has visited and the cushion has moved so I put it back, and so it goes on. Pathetic and a complete waste of time to some people I'm sure, but it's what goes on in this house, and she's only 2, what have I created??

Visited a couple of charity shops recently and picked up this lovely sheet, it's too small for our bed, and I can't bring myself to cut it up so I think it will become a tablecloth for our garden table. I hung it out on the line in the glimpse of sunshine we had yesterday and had that great "washing on the line" feeling, can't explain that one but hopefully you know what I mean!

Finally, I treated myself to some cherries yesterday, how expensive are they? £2.37 for this little lot, but boy were they worth it! There's no better taste in summer, although I always think the spitting out of the stones somewhat spoils the moment!

Love the cherries, love the sheets (perfect tablecloth), love the cushions but, I agree, don't love anyone messing with them!

I am so funny about my cushions being 'just perfect' too! I hate it when ive just "flumped"(my word for it) them, and then somebody sits on them and messes them up!... I think i must be a bit sad too!!!
I think the next shepton flea market is August 18th. As soon as know the date for sure I will let you know. Jennifer.

Haha! That's one of my things too! But, it's a losing battle in my house, especially with the feather-filled cushions! I love your pom-pom cushions, did you make them yourself?

I love it! I go away for a couple of days and come back to cushions and cherries, and strwaberries and dressers and all sorts of lovely little vintage finds - how wonderful.
I always plump up the cushions on the sofa before bed, Dale calls me Anthea, and I say thankyou.

I love the sheet, could you not add it to another plain sheet to make it big enough? Then you could have the pretty bit at the top where you can see it.

Hey the spitting out of the stones is meanmt to be seductive!!!
Love the pictures. We have ongoing rows in our house about cushions, As the only female in the house the other family mambers do not like them. Did you ever see the episode of 'Men behaving badly' with the cushions on their heads...welcome to my house...

I'm impressed you can keep the cushions on your sofa at all! My two have discovered the joy of making dens and that usually involves getting all the cushions, and all the sheets off their beds, piling them round the dining table then creeping underneath. Generally just as I'm trying to get them out of the door for school. Argh!

I have the same battle with the pillows at my house. My sons seem to think they look better on the floor! Hmphhh

Hi Julie
thanks for your comment on 'trailer trash' - please, please post pics of your caravaning experience on the Isle of Wight.
Been reading your blog - just beautiful. Your house is gorgeous. I have been looking at your kitchen - I am just about to do mine - do you have any more photos that I can glean some ideas from?
By the way, love the cushion 'drama'!

What a lovely sheet, I am funny about the couch cushions and beds made too.:) We have those kind of silent battles here too. At Christmas I put out some NOEL blocks and every time I turn around someone has changed them to LEON! :)
What a pretty home you have. :) Thanks for visiting my blog :)

It must be a little girl thing, my Molly is going through the no, no, no I'm alright stage. And I can help mummy with everything stage, including her baby sisters nappy changes (not so helpful!)
It's funny the things they get up to and we just love them for it. Next month your little one will want all the cushions on the floor and no where else lol
I think thats where most of ours stay most of the time. And it drives me mad. Arrr!
Love the table cloth, it's so pretty. And yum to the cherries, hmm my fav.

It's good to know the cushion fairy pays attention to what you do even if her arrangement is not quite right, I could recover our cushions in black binbags and nobody would notice!!

Haha, that is so funny, because I always think the same thing about cherries! I was just wondering to myself why they haven't developed pitless cherries! :)

lovely selection of cushions, did you make them? I've got a bit of a pom-pom fetish at the moment, I've put them on curtains, lampshades, cushions, anything if it stays still long enough!
